Staff at a business services provider have been rewarded with a silver medal as a ‘thank you’ for all their hard work through lockdown.
Strategi Solutions Group, in Newcastle, has presented staff with the mementos from Sterling Mint’s Heroes of 2020 range of medals which was developed to raise money for the NHS.
Sterling Mint was launched in June following the success of its sister company, Hattons of London, which specialises in rare and exclusive gold coins.
The Newcastle-based company marked its launch with a range of medals which recognises the contribution of essential and key workers throughout the UK, including doctors, nurses and carers, with all of the proceeds being donated to the NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Appeal.
Strategi Solutions Group CEO Wendy Dean, said: “All of the team has had its challenges, whether that be home-schooling, working from dining tables, trying to keep busy with the garden, emotionally supporting each other on our weekly meetings or volunteering – each person has played their part in lockdown compliance.
“Gifting a medal is a way of saying thank you to the team, whether they’ve been furloughed or working. It’s also about giving something back to the NHS professionals who have worked so hard to keep us all safe. I’m sure that in years to come, the medals will serve as a reminder of all of these things and will hopefully pass down through time to show how much we all endured to stay safe.
“Thanks to Sterling Mint for creating a beautiful memento that will last forever.”
Simon Mellinger, managing director of Sterling Mint, said: “We were so fortunate that our sister company, Hattons of London, was able to continue operating almost unaffected by the crisis, thanks to our amazing team who adapted so well to working from home.
“This allowed us to completely refocus our launch activity for Sterling Mint and create the Heroes of 2020 range in an effort to raise money for the NHS Charities Together Covid-19 urgent appeal.
“The medals are a lasting and precious way of showing how appreciated people are for their efforts during the pandemic, and they seem to be incredibly highly valued by those who receive them.”
