The Role
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive Business Development Strategy, aligned with the company’s Marketing Strategy. Your primary focus will be on driving financial growth across each of the three core business streams.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the wider Management team and subject matter experts to identify opportunities and win new business. Your efforts will be crucial in expanding the company’s market presence and contributing to overall business success.
- Creating a Business Development Strategy that has a clear plan to grow revenue and profit.
- Controls the CRM system and ensures this is an effective analysis tool.
- Forms part of the Management Team providing updates on key metrics such as pipeline and responsible for writing the Business Development section of the Board report.
- Identifying new business opportunities across each of the core business streams.
- Networking to develop relationships with potential new clients, particularly in new geographical areas.
- Proactively creating new relationships leading to potential opportunities in all areas of the business.
- Responsible for pitching proposals alongside an Expert from the management team on new business.
- Working closely with the Head of Account Management who will then be responsible for managing the account after winning a new client.
- Working closely with the CEO who will provide industry research and potential accounts.
- Training other members of the team in ensuring they identify future opportunities.
- Working closely with the management team to understand capacity and where to target opportunities.
- The role will be split between being in the office and out in the field within Staffordshire, Cheshire and surrounding areas.
What we are looking for
- A proven track record of success in sales, demonstrating the ability to meet or exceed targets.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Resilience and a positive outlook in overcoming challenges with a focus on driving results.
- Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate value propositions.
- Experience in solution selling desirable, but not essential.
- A full clean UK driving license, enabling flexibility for client meetings and business travel.
