North Staffordshire Entrepreneur reaches the final hurdle for Midlands title

Wendy Dean, CEO of Staffordshire based business consultancy, Strategi Solutions Group, has been announced as a finalist in this year’s Great British Entrepreneur Awards for the Service Industries category in The Midlands region.

Following a judging process, she has managed to beat off some incredibly stiff competition to reach the final stage, with the winner due to be announced at a virtual online celebration on the 23rd September 2020.

After pursuing a successful 36 year career in HR, in roles ranging from Group HR Director of FedEx UK to Group HR Director of Steelite International & Royal Crown Derby; Wendy took the plunge to go it alone, opening the doors of Staffordshire based Strategi Solutions Group Ltd (or Strategi-HR as it was called then) in 2015.

Since the launch, she has spent the past 5 years building a team of experienced, devoted, and talented employees offering a plethora of skills in a range of business oriented disciplines including HR, Cultural Change, Health & Safety, Learning & Development, Digital & Traditional Marketing and Design & Branding.

Wendy said “It is an honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award; being an entrepreneur after working in HR for most of my career has really enabled me to spread my wings and create my own vision rather than carrying out someone else’s  which is extremely liberating. However, the story would not be possible without such a fantastic team of people who have worked so hard to make Strategi Solutions a success story.  I am so proud for them to have come this far in the competition.  Looking at the other finalists, I’m in really good company and wish everyone the best of luck on the 23rd.”

Strategi Solutions has worked successfully with clients ranging from Palletforce (part of EV Cargo) to Smyths Toys. Lead by Wendy, as a team, they have successfully cemented their position in The Midlands as the ‘go to’ place for all business consultancy needs with their unique “Total Strategi” approach.

And the best of it? They’re only just getting started.

After their incredible success in 2019, achieving their first turnover exceeding £1 million, celebrating a year at their newly acquired offices – the ‘Strategi Hub’, and raising over £5,000 for local charity (Dougie Mac), 2020 had a lot to live up to.

Alongside her commitment to the Strategi Solutions Group, Wendy has actively used her platform to be a force of change, being a Stoke & Staffs LEP Board Member for 3 years, Director on the City Learning Trust Board, The Foundation for Education Development and Chair of the Realise Charity Board.  Wendy also mentors other women and is passionate about raising women’s confidence and aspiration in business.

She also said “Using my experience and understanding to help others succeed is something that I am consistently eager to be involved in. As the leader of Strategi Solutions and as an individual, knowing that I’m helping other businesses and organisations to grow gives me a great sense of pride and achievement”

Getting to the final of The Great British Entrepreneur Awards, with the chance to be crowned Service Industries Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 in reach, it is clear that Wendy’s lifetime of passion and commitment to people and their businesses places her in good stead to take home the prize.
