From the Classroom to Live Campaigns, Darcy’s Work Experience at Strategi Solutions

This week, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Darcy to our team for work experience. Darcy is currently studying A Levels in Business, Psychology, and Media at NSCG and has a keen interest in pursuing a career in marketing.

Throughout the week, Darcy has immersed herself in learning more about our business and team, contributing to live marketing projects for both current and prospective clients. The team has thoroughly enjoyed having her with us. She has been incredibly professional and worked extremely hard, making a valuable impact in a short time.

She’s even written her very own blog extract, sharing insights from her time with us which you can read below:

This week I joined Strategi for my work experience, where I was welcomed by the lovely team in the office. I had an amazing experience, where I learnt so much about the business and was well occupied with engaging tasks during my stay. I experienced a new environment, of an interactive workplace which I enjoyed and developed in. I felt very included in the businesses workforce and had inductions with all the team members to introduce me to the different roles and how they all work together to make a successful business.  

When I first arrived at the office, I was welcomed with an induction session led by Megan. She gave me a detailed walkthrough of the business, its values, structure, and the role it plays in helping clients grow. We also covered all the essential health and safety regulations and policies, ensuring I felt safe and well-informed from the get-go. 

Afterward, I had a lovely tour of the office space where I got to meet the amazing team I’d be working alongside. Once settled in, I turned my focus to preparing for a meeting I’d be sitting in later that day.

The meeting itself was with two representatives from a current client, Symmetrical North Staffs, who shared their goals and the ways Strategi could help elevate their social media presence. Knowing I’d be working on social media campaign ideas for Symmetrical, I listened intently and took strategic notes throughout. The conversation centred around how to amplify the charity’s message online, reach the right audience, and ultimately increase engagement and visibility.  

On my second day, I got straight to work creating a 10-slide PowerPoint campaign aimed at boosting Symmetrical’s brand awareness on social media. My approach began with a deep dive into their existing platforms, analysing which types of posts performed best. I discovered that content highlighting the charity’s impact on young people and sharing their stories received the most interaction and emotional response. 

I then moved on to competitor research, looking into how similar charities structure their social media content. By comparing different posts and their engagement metrics, I began to see patterns, what works, what doesn’t, and what might set Symmetrical apart. 

On my final day, I sat in another meeting with Jess and Sarah from the Marketing team at Strategi, Craig and Lee from Stellified, and a potential new client. This meeting was fascinating to be in, to observe how the conversation was structured, and what questions were asked to get vital information from the client.  

Later in the day, I presented my campaign for Symmetrical to all of the team. This helped me further develop my presenting skills and allowed me to gain more confidence. All the team made me feel very comfortable and assured, which made the campaign a lot easier to present. 

My overall experience at Strategi was enlightening and informative and allowed me to develop my experience and knowledge of the ins and outs of a businesses. My time there was productive and fun, which made me engage in the workplace more, and greatly enjoy my stay.
