Culture is something every organisation talks about, but it’s not always something you truly feel day to day as an employee. However, working at Strategi Solutions for the past two years has really shown what a supportive, connected culture looks like in practice.
Opportunities to learn
I joined the business as a Designer in 2024, but what stood out from day one was the opportunity to develop beyond a single, defined role. Since starting in that role, I learnt many new skills not only in design but in video content and social media, I then had the opportunity to transition into a Social Media & Content Executive role, drawing on the skills I’d picked up and my previous career experiences.
What stood out in that experience is the flexibility to develop skills in the areas you’re genuinely interested in. I have always had an interest in content creation and social media, so whether it’s continuing to build my skills in video content or stepping back into my role as a Designer, there’s always opportunity to grow and evolve your role in a way that suits you, and you aren’t tied down to a job title and description. That level of trust and flexibility says a lot about the culture.
A team that feels connected
Another thing that really stands out is how connected the team is. In previous roles, I’ve always felt part of a specific department, working within that team and rarely beyond it. At Strategi, it’s very different. There’s a real sense of being part of one team, rather than separate functions, which makes collaboration much easier and the ability to share ideas collectively as a whole team.
Achieving brilliant results
When you feel supported in your role, it naturally shows in your creative work. Looking back over the last two years, some of the things I’ve achieved are a direct result of that support, such as being trusted with larger scale projects, being encouraged to step outside of my comfort zone, and having people around you who believe you’re capable, even at times when you might not fully believe it yourself. It also shows in results as the performance of our social media is the best it has ever been!
It’s often the smaller moments, like the experiences I’ve had, that make the biggest difference and have shaped my time at Strategi so far. These sorts of experiences won’t be something I’ve experienced alone in the business, and that demonstrates how strong company culture is here.
Leading by example
For a business that provides services to support learning, development and entire culture programmes for organisations, I truly feel Strategi leads by example. It practices what it preaches. Our CEO, Wendy Dean, puts people at the heart of what we do here at Strategi, and long may that continue as that’s how to get the best out of people.
